Automatic air vents are used in heating and cooling systems. The air vent removes air that is trapped in the circuits during filling.

Operating principle: The float drops due to the presence of air in the air vent, causing the valve to open to remove the air from the vent. As soon as the air leaves the system, the water goes into the relief valve, resulting in the float dropping and the opening of the gas discharge device. Otherwise, if there is no air in the circuit, the water in the relief valve will hold the float in such a position that the gas discharge device remains closed.
